Bayfield Day Two

The second day of our vacation started with a delicious breakfast at Ritten House. This is the meal we were both looking forward too. After ten years we still remember how good the breakfasts were. We then stopped at the candy store to buy some Salt Water Taffy before heading to Ashland to pick up the boys from Kyle's parents. On our way we stopped at a local jeweler and silversmith to buy a ring for me (I will share the details of this when my ring arrives in the mail in a few weeks).

We were very excited for hugs from the boys, and were not disappointed by their excitement to see us. We explored the Great Lakes Visitors Center with them, had lunch, and then headed back to Bayfield. Tonight we were staying at the Seagull Bay Hotel (Ritten House is not exactly kid friendly). However, the weather got the better of us. We were stuck with a steady rain and excited boys cooped up in a hotel room...not a good combination. Even our plans for a ferry ride with the boys didn't work out because of the weather. So, we were stuck with watching the Olympics on TV, and enjoying the view. We ventured out for a pizza supper, a quick walk to the city docks to watch the boats, and a walk on the path by our motel with the umbrellas.

It was a good day, but would have been better had the weather cooperated.

Day three details to come!
