More Local Exploring

We went back up to the Laurentian Divide the other night to hike on some of the trails. The boys are quite interested in hiking, and ask to go hiking all the time. Exciting for Kyle and I, as we enjoy it as well. The trail we went on was a small .6 mile one in the Chippewa National Forest. We all enjoyed it, although it is quite overgrown for any good views of the ancient mountain range.

We also took the boys back to the mine overlook in Hibbing. We brought them in early spring, but it was too difficult to get a good view with the snow that was left. Ben remembered being there saying "This is the place that was really cold". This time we got some good views of all the trucks and the equipment since they were mining close to the viewing area. Very cool for young boys to see.

This is fun for Kyle and I to share with the boys because this is some of the stuff we did when he was a summer intern at the research lab in Hibbing 12 years ago.
