Fire Dept Open House
Well, the annual fire department open house was on Tuesday, and as usual, the boys had a blast. Nathaniel has carried his fire hat around almost nonstop since. The boys loved the fire truck ride, and the Engine 2 trading style type card has been close at hand as well. They had all the construction vehicles again this year, so "driving" them was fun. This year they had a huge blow-up slide, that the boys took quite a few turns on. It was very tall and very fast. We also hung around this year to watch the extraction on a "victim" from and auto accident with the jaws of life, and a room burn. Both boys loved the auto extraction. They also liked the room burn, but when the fire really took over the room and we could feel the heat (it was HOT, they made their point) Ben got scared and started crying. Then when we got home Ben kept saying he was scared. I made Kyle test all the smoke alarms (again, they made their point) and Ben was a bit scared of that as well. But he was so tired he fell asleep, with the fire hat, right away and he hasn't metioned being scared again. Nathaniel has been talking about the evening ever since.
