A Day in Duluth

The kids are at home all summer this year for the first time. They are doing well, and for the most part enjoying themselves. However, they are use to day camp at the YMCA and all the craziness, full day of activity, and field trips every Friday that day camp involved. Ben is doing just fine because he did swim camp pretty much every day in June, and has been doing summer orchestra. So, he has been staying involved and active. However, once track got done for Nate he started to go a little bit stir crazy. So, I asked him if he wanted to take a "field trip" on one of the Wednesdays I have off. His response was a DEFINITE yes. He wanted to go to Duluth. He wanted to go to the Maritime Museum. He wanted to go to Enger Tower. So, after Ben finished his violin lesson, we took off for Duluth. We walked Canal Park, we walked over the lift bridge, we ate hotdogs and mini donuts, we watched a ship leave the harbor, we rented a three person bike and rode to the war memorials, we went to the top of Enger Tower, we got the kids necessary dress clothes, and we got Ben a few items that he needed for his violin and his saxophone. We were exhausted, but we had a blast! We only wish Kyle had been able to join us.
