This one is only a month late, but I am still blogging! More posts in the last month and a half than the last year!
The end of January found us in the cities for the Special Olympics state hockey games. We like all the state games, but really like this one. Nate was fortunate to be able to join his team because he was sick at the area hockey games. Usually if you don't go to area, then you don't go to state. Luckily there is an if you are sick clause in that rule.
Nate's team lost all three of their gamed. However, when there are only 3 teams in your division you still get a bronze medal. The impressive thing, was after loosing 14-0 to a team Sunday morning, they had to play them again a couple hours later. This time they held them to only 0ne goal for most of the game. It was a fun one to watch, and all those athletes should be proud of themselves no matter what the final outcome was.
State hockey weekend usually involves a Friday night hockey game of some sort. This time it was the Augsburg women's team. It was at this hockey game that Ben discovered he is "going to love college" as a college girl in yoga pants walked by. Sigh.....
Nate's favorite part? The classroom his team is always assigned to keep their stuff in is the history class!! Oh the books that are in there....perfect!!
