Halloween

Ben got off the bus yesterday excited as can be. "Mom, I got to show my costume and we had a parade and I got lots of CANDY!!" It was adorable. But, his excitement was quickly replaced by tears when we got inside and he realize the prized candy was nowhere to be found in his backpack or jacket pockets. Luckily we have an entire bowl full of candy from trick-or-treating at St. Kate's and we were able to find exactly what he was missing. Crises averted.

Nate was so excited all day he hardly knew what to do with himself. He was fine in the morning when Ben got to wear his costume to school but he had to bring his in a bag. He was not so fine when at the end of the day they made him take the costume off before going home. Needless to say the minute we walked into the house he ripped open his backpack and had his costume back on. He had a tough time waiting then until after supper to go trick-or-treating.

Trick-or-treating was not so cold as predicted. It was chilly, but the winds died down before we headed out and it actually felt good to be outside. If the 40 mph winds had kept up, it would not have been as tolerable. All-in-all a good time was had and we now have more candy in this house than I know what to do with.
