We are more than willing to save energy when we can. However, not at the expense of burning our house down. We had one burn on Halloween, and we thought it was because it was in a ceiling fan and somewhat enclosed. I was sitting at the desk in the dining room doing homework (big surprise, I feel like I live in that chair lately) and the light in the lamp started to flicker. Then it went out, so I figured it had just burned out. But then I noticed a steady stream of smoke rising from the lamp. So I look under the shade and sure enough the bulb is ON FIRE! Well, not exactly in flames...but glowing red hot. Not to mention the smell... I am glad I was home, and sitting right there. Kyle and I just went through the entire house to take out the rest of them, and all of them were brown around the base as well. It may be just the brand we had or something, but I am extremely hesitant to try any of them again!
