FIRE!

Ben has been afraid of fire since we took him to the fire house open house and they did a room burn. He has also been introduced to fire alarms at school now as well. He knows exactly what they look like up on the wall. Now wherever we go, he searches for the fire alarms until he finds them and then is quite concerned about them going off. We were at St. Kate's the other day while Kyle and Nate were home sick. They have a study froom for student parents that has one half tables, computers and printer and in the oher half of the room is every toy imaginable. The rooms are even seperated by a wall of glass so that the study room is quiet. He should have loved it, but was too concerned because he spotted the fire alarms on the wall. He spent the entire time asking me "what was that noise" just too make sure it wasn't a fire or fire alarm.

Ben was having a fit the other night because he wasn't listening and lost his reading light on his bed for the night. Once his screaming and yelling had finally calmed down, Nate decided to torment his brother more by yelling FIRE! Which of course got quite a rise out of Ben. Nate has his areas he needs to work on developmentally, but he has the older brother role perfected. Including the necessary teasing and tormenting! Kyle and I have a hard time not laughing, and are somewhat relieved (depending on the time of day and what is going on) that he is doing something so typical.
