"Spring" Break

Kyle had no classes last weekend for spring break. So we decided to go somewhere without the kids. We thought about leaving the kids with Mike and Sara in the cities and flying out of MSP to somewhere warm, but I decided it would be more relaxing for me to spend less time traveling and more time relaxing. I suggested somewhere by Lake Superior with a nice view. We decided on Bluefin Bay. We have wanted to go there ever since we started getting Lake Superior Magazine, because they have a full page ad on the back cover of every issue...and it always looked so inviting!

We made plans for the kids, and reserved a "Grand Superior Master Suite" with a double jacuzzi tub overlooking Lake Superior, and a fireplace.  It was a very relaxing weekend full of, well...nothing much at all. We drank wine, sat in comfy chairs overlooking the lake ( our room had large windows all across the wall that faced the lake), enjoyed to jacuzzi, ate looonnnggg drawn out meals (their cheesy artichoke dip with pita bread is amazing), and even ventured out for a nice lake walk. We had great weather considering it was March on the banks of the big lake. We even caught site of the big moon Saturday night as we were having dinner...just the bottom of it glowing as red as ever. If it had not been cloudy the moon would have put on an AMAZING show!

Anyway, Bluefin Bay was everything they advertise it to be, and we will certainly be back! Here are some highlites:

First some of the views from our room.

One of Kyle doing exactly what we spent most of our time doing over the weekend, relaxing and looking at the lake.

And some pictures from our nice walk (the agate picking is great this time of year)
