Tonight was the YMCA community picnic. Since it started right when we picked the boys up from camp today...we had no choice but to go. So, to Nate's delight, we had a picnic dinner of hotdogs. We then cheered the boys on as they participated in the YMCA Fun Run. Ben was up first running the 1/4 mile with the 5-6 year olds. He did awesome. Nate was up next running the 1/2 mile with the 7 -12 year olds. He did just as awesome. Not to be unfair, because Ben did just as good...but I have to say that for someone who once used a walker to run a 1/2 mile run and not finish last was awesome. But I should mention that Ben was waiting for Nate at the 1/4 mile mark and ran the last 1/4 mile with him...what a guy. Both boys would be great runners, and this is a thought to keep in mind for the future.
