Where to begin....
Our Yellowstone trip was incredible, amazing, and very tiring (as vacations usually are). The boys did great, and we rewarded them with a stay at a hotel that had a water slide on the last night of our trip. Ben's favorite part of the vacation was the water slide, Nate's was either the bison or the hot springs (he gives a different answer every time you ask).
Driving the old Corolla across North Dakota and Montana it became apparent that it needed some more repairs. We decided it was time to finally say goodbye to it rather than dump a lot of money into a 13 year old car. Plus, we were outgrowing it. Well, Kyle out grew it long ago, since he was so cramped into it. We decided on a used 2007 Buick Lucerne (see picture)...and have been loving the smooth ride and extra room for a few days now. We bought it from a dealer in between the cities and Mankato...but were able to make the deal in Hayward. This was a much nicer drive and also allowed us to visit with Kyle's parents for a night as well (thanks to them again for watching the boys when we went to go get the car).
When we got home from getting the car on Friday, my temporary occupational therapy license and my diploma were in the mail. So, now I can apply to take that big test that will allow me to become a registered and licensed OT. This also means that I am pretty much set to start my job at Deer River Healthcare Center on the 13th.
We spent our 4th of July was spent at my sister-in-law's family's cabin. It included a pirate themed floatilla (Nate loved this and was pretty much a pirate until he fell asleep that night...argh!), and lots of playing in the lake for everyone. Thanks again to the Johnson's for including us!
Today we drove over to Itasca State Park for more fun in the water, and to check out the headwaters of the Mississippi River...another fun but tiring day.
Next we are set to head to the cities to bring Nate to get a new eye and see his oncologist. Will post reports from these appointments when we get back!
